Seventh Generation
Feminine Care Fact Sheet
-
Seventh Generation
feminine care
products (including pads, liners and tampons) are
totally chlorine-free (TCF).
It is Seventh Generation’s practice to test all our products for
chlorine content, generally referred to as an AOX (absorbable organic
halocarbon) test.
-
Seventh Generation
conducted in-home product testing with over 700 women. The feedback
these 700 women respondents provided guided the development and
construction for the product launch. Our goal of premium product
performance as compared to the leading conventional brands was
achieved. Despite high satisfaction levels with their conventional
brands, 80-84% of the women participating stated they would purchase
Seventh Generation Feminine Care products. We developed a premium
product that works and that women will come back and purchase again and
again.
-
Seventh Generation
pads and liners combined the finest raw material technology with
sophisticated design for maximum absorbency and comfort.
-
Seventh Generation
individual pads (as well as the package
itself) are wrapped in polyethylene, a readily recyclable
material. Why do we wrap the individual pads and liners? It’s
important to make sure that individual pads and liners are protected
from dirt and contamination—not just in the manufacturing process, but
when a consumer is carrying them around.
Our research indicated that women want
personal care products to be convenient, portable, sanitary and
discreet.
-
Seventh Generation
uses the following materials in our pads: TCF (totally chlorine
free) wood pulp, TCF (totally chlorine free) absorbent airlaid
fabric, a non-woven cover sheet, natural adhesive (used on the pad back
and wings), and Lysorb/super natural absorbent plymer (SNAP), a
polysaccharide that is derived from wheat and is a complex sugar.
Plant fibers such as cotton, wood, and many other natural substances are
polysaccharides.
